The new repository is ready : https://gitlab.kitware.com/vtk/vtk-examples/-/tree/master/
By using LFS and cleaning up history, the size is now down to 250Mo (instead of 2Go).
There is still a few oddities which I did not touch, a cleaning pass may be in order.
