Dear developers,

we have recently moved to a new VTK version, but it causes a segmentation fault if we try opening _distributed_ OpenFOAM cases.

We rely on python interface and installed vtk using pip, specifically the 9.0.1 version from June, 24.

Further tests showed that earlier versions (8.1.2) don’t have such problem. Also the newest ParaView is fine, which curiously contains an even newer VTK version 9.0.20201030 from October, 30. I conclude that the problem is known and has been resolved.

Could one install this latest VTK version via pip? Or in any other automated way without the need to compile it.

Thank you very much. Sincerely,
Art
