# Error: Building VTK from Source - vtkWrapHierarchy

I cloned the VTK repository to my local machine. I created a build folder inside the cloned directory and ran the CMake file from within the build folder. I then ran make from within that build directory as well.

I received an error when make was running that said

> vtkWrapHierarchy: couldn’t open file /Users/\<user\>/Documents/vtk/build/lib/vtk/hierarchy/VTK/vtkCommonCore-hierarchy.txt

It seems that the file it can not open does not exist and I do not know why. If someone could offer more advice I would very much appreciate it. Also, if you need more information from me to reproduce this problem, please let me know. Thank you.

Sorry about that. I’ve just merged the fix this morning.
