# How to use vtkAxesTransformWidget to generate 3D widget in VTK scene ?

Hi, I just want to generate a widget around an 3D actor, then I interact with the widget to move, rotate, scale the actor or bind other event. The official method is use vtkAxesTransformWidget and vtkAxesTransformRepresentation, but I failed to generate it with "ERROR: In D:\02\_Data\vtk\Rendering\FreeType\vtkVectorText.cxx, line 63

I meet the same problem. I look into the code of vtkAxesTransformWidget and think the code is not finished.

Still see this error, is there a different widget available to manipulate the Actor for Translation and rotation? like a move tool?

We had lots of issues with the stock VTK widgets in 3D Slicer and we ended up adding a new widget for translating/rotating/scaling objects in 3D and slice views. We have just announced the feature [here](https://discourse.slicer.org/t/new-feature-interactive-transformation-adjustable-center-of-rotation/36974). If you want to render with VTK (especially in the domain of medical imaging) and want to interactively transform objects then you can use this widget in 3D Slicer.
