# Please do not backport to \`release\` or \`paraview/release\` branches until Wednesday, June 19

Dear VTK developers

To aid the ParaView release process, please hold off on backporting to `release` or `paraview/release` branches until at least Wednesday, June 19. A short pause is needed to advance the `paraview/release` branch, and since `release` gets merged into that branch, backporting to the `release` branch will modify it and cause us to need to rebase again.

I’ll post a followup letting you know when it is safe to backport again.
