# Should I enable or disable the VTK\_USE\_SYSTEM\_\* options when using cmake to config vtk.

Hi,
There are many VTK\_USE\_SYSTEM\_\* options when compiling vtk, say the following ones:
```
-DVTK_USE_SYSTEM_LIBRARIES=ON \
-DVTK_USE_SYSTEM_LIBPROJ4=OFF \
-DVTK_USE_SYSTEM_GL2PS=OFF \
-DVTK_USE_SYSTEM_LIBHARU=OFF \
-DVTK_USE_SYSTEM_PUGIXML=OFF \
```
As a general rule, should I enable or disable them when using cmake to do the config?

As a general rule, if you are not sure that you need to change a build option then leave it at its default value.
