# update VTK's minimum ospray version to 1.8.1?

Hey gang,

I am working to incorporate image [denoising](https://openimagedenoise.github.io/). As part of that work I want to update the minimum required version of OSPRay a bit. Doing so will let me remove a bunch of conditionally defined paths in the code and drop several old workarounds from older versions.

Respond here if there are any concerns.
