# VTK Examples - recent updates

Firstly, there have been lots of changes to VTK, so examples showcasing these new changes would be welcome. At the simplest, a suitably modified test case is welcome.
Some changes have been introduced to the examples, namely as a result of:
- [https://gitlab.kitware.com/vtk/vtk-examples/-/merge\_requests/444#note\_1788138](https://gitlab.kitware.com/vtk/vtk-examples/-/merge_requests/444#note_1788138) w.r.t. the C++ code here, I have kept in the deprecated `vtkImageThreshold` usage to assist users in transitioning to the new `vtkImageThreshold`. Check out [FroggieSurface](https://examples.vtk.org/site/PythonicAPI/Visualization/FroggieSurface/) to see how compact the new usage is in Python.
- [Changes to the VTK array interface: Size(), Resize(), Allocate()](https://discourse.vtk.org/t/changes-to-the-vtk-array-interface-size-resize-allocate/16344)
Other changes are:
- Simplified [DrawViewportBorder](https://examples.vtk.org/site/PythonicAPI/Snippets/DrawViewportBorder/) (I’ll probably redo the C++ version soon).
- Fixed a lot of test images.
As a result, the test results for C++ are now:

[TransientHDFReader](https://examples.vtk.org/site/Cxx/IO/TransientHDFReader/) used to display an image, now it doesn’t. Any suggestions as to why would be welcome.

this vtkhdf file contains a partitioned polydata, so the VTK Reader will output a vtkPartitionedDataSet.
Later in this example, we use a vtkPolyDataMapper in the pipeline, I suppose we should use a vtkCompositePolyDataMapper. I’ll try that
