I noticed that Paraview contains a vtkPVDReader module. Are there any plans to move this out of Paraview and into the VTK library? I didn’t see any obvious dependencies on Paraview when I glanced through the file (I admittedly didn’t look too hard, though).

.pvd stands for ParaView Data, so I do not think so. Which feature from .pvd are you looking for ?

I was considering extending VisIt to read .pvd files, and this would be an easy route. We had a user ask about this, so I’m just getting a sense of what kind of effort this would require.
