By upstreaming you mean contributing it to vtk? I could try…I have some experience with that, I tried to get the 3d mouse support officially in vtk but fell short as I didn’t have a mac at the time…

Would be awesome if you can contribute the perf improvement to VTK. please review Developer’s Guide - VTK documentation in case you need a recap on the dev workflow!
