In the ‘VTK for Data Exploration and Visualization’ training, you will see the basics of VTK and create analysis and visualization pipelines. Then we will see how to manage input and output and create custom processing filters, for data in 2D, 3D or more.
The ‘VTK for Application Developers’ introduces the main concepts of VTK from the 2D/3D visualization to the more complex post-processing pipelines and integration in existing applications.
Did you know VTK can be used for medical imaging and augmented/virtual reality?

Hi Helene. I’m always happy to see training sessions available, I’ve participated in a few myself.
Something I noticed about the October 18 (VTK for Application Developers) and October 21 (VTK for Data Exploration & Visualization) sessions: From reading the descriptions it seems like maybe the session on the 21st is actually the more basic/entry-level VTK course of the two? The session on the 18th actually has the prerequisite
VTK: Basic knowledge of data model and pipeline usage
Perhaps these two sessions can/should be switched?
I only bring this up because I have a colleague who I want to suggest these sessions to but I feel they might get more from them if the order was swapped.
