how to generate vtkTexture?

Hi,i want generate virtual bracket.i have generated the virtual cylinder,like this:

but i want to put texture on cylinder,just like this,

here i have the bracket stl file,like this:

so,is there any methods to convert the stl to vtkTexture ?
