Medical example of vtk using DICOM format slices

Hi,
I am new to this forum! I have used VTK for couple of month.
questions:

  1. I have build and run vtk example Medical1…Medical4. I used headsq/quarter slices but I don’t know the format of quarter slice files, can any one shed a light on this?
  2. is it possible to convert DICOM slice file to quarter format?
  3. can any one suggest how to modify Medical example of VTK so we can use DICOM format?

any suggestions is appreciated!
