Hello VTK community,
We are investigating a Windows native-library loading failure involving:
vtk-9.6.2-cp312-cp312-win_amd64.whl
Environment:
-
Windows 11, 64-bit
-
CPython 3.12.10
-
VTK 9.6.2
-
CadQuery 2.8.0 and cadquery-ocp 7.9.3.1.1
During our CadQuery-based application pipeline, Windows Code Integrity events 3077 and 3033 identify this blocked file:
vtk.libs/vtkCommonExecutionModel-9.6.2.dll
The events report policy/signing-level rejection. Policy-state evidence indicates Smart App Control involvement.
Read-only inspection found:
-
Installed DLL and corresponding wheel member are byte-identical.
-
Size: 1,875,456 bytes.
-
SHA256:
C72781DE2EFBEA203950A72EE571998EAD6F7710AE796CC8EEFA20BAB881F1C7 -
Authenticode status:
NotSigned. -
No Zone.Identifier stream.
Is this a known compatibility issue for the Windows wheel? Is there a supported signed distribution or recommended deployment route that retains Windows application-control enforcement?
The failure was observed through a CadQuery application, not yet reproduced through an independent VTK-only example. We are therefore asking for compatibility guidance rather than claiming a VTK functional defect.
We can provide sanitized diagnostic excerpts. No security-policy changes or binary modifications have been made. Please advise whether this belongs in the VTK GitLab tracker.
