I’m looking at the VTK download page (https://vtk.org/download/) and think it’s a bit confusing. I think we’re currently in the release candidate stage for v9.2.0 but the download page lists 9.2.0 as the latest release. Additionally, none of the other v9 releases (e.g. v9.1.0, v9.0.3, etc.) are listed there. Finally, the tag for the v9.2.0 release is shown on the download web page but since we’re still in the release candidate stage there isn’t an actual git tag for v9.2.0 yet. I’m not sure if the download web page gets a ton of traffic but some people still go there (see https://gitlab.kitware.com/vtk/vtk/-/issues/18587#note_1212920).
I agree @acbauer , we should implement the same logic as the one in ParaView: https://www.paraview.org/download/
